About Me

Kim Questad

Hello.  I lead the team of licensed counselors at Renew and have several others working toward licensure under my supervision.  I have a passion for serving clients and meeting with them as they aspire to "strengthen, change and renew" their lives.   We offer a safe and non-judgemental space to process goals you desire to reach.

I have experience with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction and more.  I believe working through struggles takes courage but brings strength.  Through development of skills, identifying your needs and talking through real life situations my hope is for you to feel encouraged to move forward.

About Me

Justin Nielsen

I have interest in a variety of psychological topics, including psychology/spirituality, addictions and co-occurring disorders, anxiety and depression, relational health/functioning and human sexuality. I have utilized my services at an addiction agency, working with a variety of men and women and families dealing with family dynamics, trauma, attachment injury, and group therapy. A favorite quote of mine, “No man can walk into the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.” Every interaction, circumstance and moment influences our interpretation of self and other. Allow the experience of therapy to help navigate life and relationship.

I believe it is my duty to offer a space for each individual, couple, or family to explore and learn more about their human experience, to feel both solidly themselves, and at peace connecting with others. Health and wellness must come from a holistic perspective; biological, psychological, sociological and spiritual. I utilize systems theories, existential theories, attachment-based theory and CBT/DBT approaches to set the stage, allowing the individual to guide each session. I’m excited to step into this journey with you.

About Me

Michelle Pliska

Greetings!  My personal approach to therapy is collaborative, solution focused and multi-culturally sensitive.  I aim to provide a supportive environment for growth and healing; space in which you can honestly and supportively evaluate your life and personal stressors that you bring into the office.   As your counselor, I hope to create a space that is comfortable, supportive, encouraging and courageous.

I earned my MA in Counseling and Psychology in Education from The University of South Dakota in 2005.  My undergraduate major was Criminal Justice.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (2008) and Qualified Mental Health Professional (2017).  I am a member of the South Dakota Counselor’s Association.  My experiences have included both school counseling and clinical mental health settings. The primary focus of my work has been with youth that are struggling emotionally or behaviorally, Veterans, life transitions, trauma, crisis counseling, depression, anger, anxiety, and grief and loss.  I am South Dakota born and raised, so most of my work has been with rural populations.

Although I have traveled the world some, my favorite place to be is SD, whether it be the serenity and adventure of the Black Hills, the wonder of the Palisades or the urban vibe of downtown Sioux Falls, I have 605 Pride!  I believe healing and inspiration can come from a variety of sources: including creative outlets like music and art, the outdoors, spirituality and our relationships.  I will honor our relationship we create with unconditional positive regard, safety, and confidentiality.

Much of my work and life is driven by three basic beliefs:
•    Be love.
•    Be the change you wish to see in the world.
•    Be brave.  To do the right thing takes courage.  It also takes courage to ask for help.

I am excited to learn more about you and what you believe it is important for a person to be.  I believe we will do good and meaningful work together.
